what i’ve been claying lately
In early October I was somehow inspired to create a bevy of small one of a kind boxes.
They are about 2 inches wide and about 1 inch tall. I used small cookie cutters to form the clay around. Baked it that way then cut it off the cookie cutter …then used more clay to “weld” it and a little liquid clay. Baked it onto a base. While that was baking I would form the top.
The top stays in place to the bottom because I used the same cookie cutter to cut a form to fit the top of the box, and stuck that to the underneath of the top. ARE YOU CONFUSED YET?
Each one has a different finish or design. I let the clay become what it wants to. I know, that sounds weird! BUT HEY, I am being ARTISTIC here!!
